TNECD Celebrates Centennial Tennessee Companies
The Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development (TNECD) will recognize companies that have been in operation for 100 years or more in the Volunteer State.
JP Shelly & Sons was celebrated for being family owned and operated since 1902.
Thank you to our whole community for supporting us for 122 years and counting.

The Heart of Middleton Since 1902
J.P. Shelly & Sons Hardware and General Merchandise Store was founded by William Henry Shelly in 1902. The family business continued its tradition of service when son, J.P. Shelly, joined the company in 1929. In 1949, Harry Shelly joined the family business and moved to Middleton. His brother, John Shelly joined him in 1955. Upon the passing of the sons, Harry and John P. (Red), Harry's son, Keith, and his wife Lori took ownership in 2019 and now represent the fourth generation of Shelly's overseeing the family business.
